Next Wave
The Next Wave Festival was established in 1985, the year of Victoria's 150th anniversary and International Year of Youth, as a multi-art-form festival specifically aimed at involving young people. The biennial festival is a major feature of Victoria's cultural landscape and Australia’s leading festival for young artists. It has a curated program that involves young people in every level of production and presentation. In non-festival years the organisation focuses on a range of activities, primarily Next Wave Kickstart, a program whereby young artists and arts workers receive support to develop projects or a body of work for the following Next Wave Festival.
